PUORG is the research group of Prof. Anna M. Michalak. Our research focuses on characterizing complexity and quantifying uncertainty in environmental systems with the goal of improving our understanding of these systems and our ability to forecast their variability.
Our current work primarily falls under three general categories: water quality monitoring and contaminant source identification, atmospheric greenhouse gas emission and sequestration estimation, and use of remote sensing data for earth system characterization.
The common theme of our research is the development and application of statistical and geostatistical data fusion and inverse modeling methods for optimizing the use of limited in situ and remote sensing environmental data. Several members of the group also have expertise in environmental policy, economics, sustainability, and broader issues of global change.
This page includes a database of software and datasets from recent and ongoing work. Anyone is welcome to use these data and software, but we do request that you register, simply so that we know how these resources are being used. We update the available resources regularly, so check back or contact us if you cannot find a particular resource.
